In Fulfilled Lives, we believe in creating meaningful lives, both for ourselves as well as others.

If we want fulfilling lives, we have to start with ourselves. We have to align our actions to our values and priorities so that we become the person we know we can be. We have to walk the walk. We have to BE better.

We are also convinced that unconditional giving is at the very heart of a meaningful life.

When you stop focusing on getting more and start using your skills, creativity and resources to make someone else’s life better and without expecting anything in return, that’s when you find happiness, purpose and meaning.

In our Fitness Coaching program, we apply behaviour-change science to help you develop the skills and habits you need to be your best self for the rest of your life.

We work on ourselves first, so that we can help others improve their own lives.

Every month, we give our clients the chance to donate their effort - and kilos - to one of the charities we work with. The organisation that gets the most number of votes gets part of our monthly profit.

We do this because money is not the point. Giving without expecting anything in return is.

Our first coaching group - who started on 26-Mar-2018 and finished on 16-Mar-2019 - has done some fantastic work on both fronts. Let's have a look at their stories and how they impacted the world in a meaningful way.

Meet our Coaching Group and Their Stories

Andrea

Lost 8 kilos and 47 cm

Age: 41

Total kilos lost: 8 kilos (from 60 kg to 52.2 kg)

Total cm lost: 47 cm (from 512 cm to 465 cm)

Side effects: Self-confidence improvement, emotional eating management

Andrea came to our Fitness Coaching program looking to lose some weight and to feel better. There was also the hope of maybe one day being able to wear her "smallest pants" she had been keeping in her wardrobe.

Having tried so many things to lose weight in the past - from pills to just plain not eating at all - she knew she had to do "something different", as she puts it. She was hoping this was it.

With the help of her coach, Andrea embraced the change process and worked really hard at her goals. She managed to adapt really well to all the different challenges she faced with her family's health, as well as her work. Emotionally, it was a very challenging journey, but one Andrea would not change. "The program is totally effective...", she comments.

Now "everything is better... my nutrition habits are different and my [fitness], I feel that I learned to be more 'aware' not only in eating but in other areas too..."

By the way... She's also able to wear those pants again!

Sebastian

Lost 11 kilos and 33 cm

Age: 30

Total kilos lost: 11 kilos (from 105 kg to 94 kg)

Total cm lost: 33 cm (from 642 cm to 609 cm)

Side effects: Stopped smoking, lower back pain improvement

Sebastian came to our coaching program during a very stressful season of his life. Buried in work and daily chores meant his personal life was suffering.

Seba was "feeling out of control with his life in general," he explains.

He was struggling to find the time to do the things he loves. Putting others first meant his health was also hurting. He had already had surgery to remove a slipped disk in his lower back. However, the pain was still as intense as before.

His extra weight was not making things easier. And he knew it. He had already tried to lose weight with many "restrictive diets," but nothing had worked in the long-term.

Recovering his health was Seba's primary motivator.

With the help of his coach, he focused entirely on the change process. His flexibility and ability to adapt to his changing and busy routine was formidable. He "... learned that no matter what happens, it's always a good time to try again."

Seba worked on making time to do the things that are important to him. And he started living according to his values and priorities.

In his own words, "I changed several bad habits, got to learn many new [things] that I didn't know about my health... I never thought I'd be able to go this far!"

He even stopped smoking and changed his alcohol intake habits.

"I changed my work, I gave up many unhealthy habits, and I created a better routine. I learned to cook healthy and to shop healthy as well," Seba comments. He also found that consistent physical movement helped alleviate his lower back issues.

If you are looking for some wisdom, Seba has some for you: "Enjoy more, live more, and do the same things but slower!"

Simple, but it works.

Mabel

Lost 6.5 kilos and 16 cm

Age: 61

Total kilos lost: 6.5 kilos (from 72 kg to 65.5 kg)

Total cm lost: 16 cm (from 542 cm to 526 cm)

Side effects: Planning, mindful eating

When Mabel joined our coaching program, she was after more than just losing a few kilos. After some significant family challenges, she was looking to "regain control of [her] life again."

"I was ready to change but had a very poor understanding of how to achieve it," she comments. Having "read books and follow[ed] step by step diets" for years, she had realised that approach "was unsustainable."

Mabel knew she needed "accountability and new ideas."

With the help of her coach, she grabbed the coaching opportunity with both hands. Her commitment to the change process was incredible. Especially considering her ever-changing routine, travelling from one country to the other. Her effort and consistency with the daily practices were the results of living according to her values and priorities.

In her own words, "it has been an incredible journey from a very low and de-motivated place in my life to regain control of my own destiny!

"The hardest part was to be consistent during a year that I just happened to travel the most through many different countries and time zones and without a set routine.

"Learning new habits and changing my mindset helped me a lot to understand that I could do even a little bit every day and always pick up the pace when I could. I learnt not to expect perfection any more but to relax and be kind to myself. I am now much more confident, satisfied and happy with myself."

"I lost weight, became more active and learned new habits... I feel so much more confident and in charge of my body, and I found new freedom and acceptance of myself."

These stories don't end here.

They Also Fought Global Malnutrition

Fighting global malnutrition, for us here in Fulfilled Lives, is a way of giving one the chance to be a better person. It's a way of bringing hope to those who lost it because of their daily struggles and challenging circumstances.

Andrea, Mabel and Sebastian have worked really hard during this past year in our coaching program. Not only did they get some fantastic results in their own lives, but they also impacted the lives of many children in extreme poverty.

By donating their effort, kilos and money to the charities we work with - a grand total of 25 kilos and US$ 940 - the group was able to provide education and resources to those who live in extreme poverty throughout this whole year.
